PICK UP TRASH WITH THE COMMUNITY IMPACT TEAM FROM TRELLIS AND LOVE COSTA MESA

The Community Impact Team from Trellis/Love Costa Mesa is made up entirely of people experiencing homelessness.  For the past several years this team has been dedicated to keeping the streets and parks of Costa Mesa clear of trash, helping create clean, beautiful spaces so families, residents and visitors can experience the city at its best. The CIT members have learned responsibility, accountability, integrity and many other values, and most have moved on into housing and employment, citing their volunteer work with CIT as the catalyst that moved them forward.  We have offered mentorship, guidance, friendship and a sense of community to people who may be experiencing those things for the first time.

We would like to invite you into that space, to serve alongside some of our unhoused friends and like-minded business, resident and church groups.  Our people are not scary and you are as likely to come away from a project having learned something new as they are.  Our projects offer an ideal opportunity for a home group or other study group to get out of a room and share God’s love for his children, having fun while serving the community.

If you are interested please reach out to me.  We all look forward to what could happen with your participation.
