DESCRIPTION:  Get ready for the time of your life! This is a week in the mountians. A week away from the fast pace life of Orange County! Hume Lake is nestled in the Sequoia Mountains on a beautiful lake. This week is filled with bible based teaching, small group discussion, recreation activities, high ropes course, boating, relaxing, volleyball, worship, fellowship, life-long memories, and more. You won't want to miss this opportunity to connect in deeper ways with our church family and ultimately grow in our relationship with God!

*We work really hard to keep the cost down as best we can but each year we have increases to transportation and Hume Lake costs. If you have specific questions please do not hesitate to ask.


Does this cost feel overwhelming?

1. Apply for Scholarship
Complete an application! Once turned in, we will determine how much we are able to allocate based on your scholarship needs. We are able to scholarship up to 50% of the trip cost depending on eligibility and the amount of available scholarship. Students that receive scholarship money are required to complete 5 hours of work program.

2. Work Program:
Work for 5 hours at Grace Fellowship Church to earn $50 trip credit. ($10 credit for each hour worked)

3. Payment Plan:
Make monthly payments for up to 4 month before the trip! ($100 deposit still required to secure spot)

TRIP FAQ's:

Q: What is the Check In Date and why is it different then the trip date? 
A: 
This year we are doing check in one day before the trip. High School and Junior High students will be responsible to pack ahead of time and bring their duffle and sleeping bag/pillow to Grace Fellowship Church between the times of 12pm and 5pm on Saturday, August 1st. The carry-on bag does not need to be checked in ahead of time, but can be brought with the student on the first day of the trip. This will allow for a smoother and quicker check in on Sunday morning of the 2nd.

Q: What should I pack?

QWhat happens if the Trip fills up?
A: Don’t worry, we have a waiting list! There will be a Waiting List for every trip that does not require an application. The Waiting List is first come first serve based on sign up and student cancelations. You can usually find these Waiting Lists online at overflowtheyouth.com.

QWhat are my financial/payment options?
A: Scholarship, Payment Plan, or Work Program. Please see more in depth details above in Finances section.

Q: What if my child has/needs medication while on the Trip?
A: OVERFLOW will collect all medications during Check-In. When you turn medications in, you will fill out a Medication Release form informing OVERFLOW and Hume Lake at what time, and the quantity of medications your student needs to receive. This includes Asthmatic Inhalers and any Anxiety medications. Medication will be distributed by Hume Lake's nursing staff. Hume Lake has a 24 hour health center with nurses and a doctor on call in the event of medical need.

Q: How do we receive updates while my student is gone?
A: During Check-In you will receive an Emergency Card with the Pastor & Associate’s cell phone numbers. Also on this Emergency Card, you will find a Text Code. Through this Text Messaging System you will receive daily updates about what your student is doing during their trip. You MUST opt in to this System, or you will not receive the updates. 

Q: What happens if my child has to cancel, do I get a refund?
A: In our Cancelation Policy, we outline in our Cancelation Procedures. 
You are responsible for your child's entire cost for their spot immediately upon registering for the trip. Funds will only be refunded if your child’s spot can be filled with another student from the Waiting List. ALL deposits are always non-refundable and non-transferable. You can view the detailed cancellation policy & exceptions HERE.

Q: When are Scholarship Applications due?
A: 
Scholarships Applications are due 2 months before the trip on June 2nd. This allows us to best partner with you and your student.
