“Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power.”
-- Psalm 145:4
At Grace, we take seriously our call from God to communicate to the next generation His greatness and His grace. In our classrooms, we utilize a “God centered, Christ exalting and Bible saturated” curriculum developed by the ministry Children Desiring God for that purpose.
“The greatest need children have is to know and cherish the infinite value of God. We want children to become so acquainted with the Word of God that they treasure Him alone as the One who saves and satisfies the heart. The goal of our curriculum is to fuel spiritual desire in children by exalting the greatness and worth of God and His glorious work through Christ.” -- CDG Ministries

We are starting a new curriculum in our Toddler (2’s and 3’s) and Preschool (4’s and 5’s) rooms called TRU.

Beginning October 14th all of us here at Grace (Adults, Overflow & Kids) will begin a series focused on the life saving message of the Gospel and our call to share that message with others. This series is unique in that there will be Wednesday night gatherings from 7-8:30pm in addition to Sunday morning teaching. This will allow us to discuss practical ways of sharing the message of Jesus.
We encourage you to save these Wednesday dates - October 17th, 24th & November 7th, 14th, so that you can make preparations to attend each week. We are encouraging all Grace Fellowship Home Groups to include this time as part of their regular weekly gathering.
Children, ages 1-10, will have classes on Wednesday night, but we are requesting parents RSVP for their children to Amber Mitchell in order to have the proper amount of materials ready.
This series provides a great opportunity for us to enlarge our hearts for the lost as we look at our role and the freedom we have in the salvation process. Over the course of the FloodLight series you’ll hear testimonies from Grace members designed to challenge and encourage us to step out in faith in the power of the Holy Spirit!
I am so excited for this series, and I hope you are too.

I am so excited to be writing you as a new member of the Grace Fellowship staff!
My name is Amber Mitchell, and I am the new Children's Director at Grace Fellowship Church. I am so thrilled to get to know each and every one of you as well as your little ones! But first, I thought I would tell you a little bit about myself.
I grew up in Lake Arrowhead, which was amazing! I spent most of my childhood playing in the forest, climbing trees, and building forts. My family and I spent summers in a boat on the lake and winters snowboarding and skiing in the mountain snow. I loved growing up in a small town in the mountains! Throughout high school and college, I worked at a number of different Christian camps in the area where I held various roles in which I directly worked with children of all ages. I attended Biola University where I majored in Liberal Studies.
During my time at BIOLA I also met my husband of 8 years, James. After Biola, I lived in Costa Rica for a semester where I attended a Bible/Spanish school called Portantorchas. After earning my teaching credential through Cal State Fullerton, I began a teaching career at Carden School in Whittier. After two years, I moved to Calvary Christian School in Santa Ana, where I taught for the past 7 years.
My husband and I have been attending Grace for almost all of our marriage. During our time here, I have had the opportunity to work within various ministries, including a summer internship with the children’s ministry under Clarke Brogger, teaching a 5th grade girls Bible study, volunteering at VBS for 3 years, and attending too many Tecate trips to count. I also served with my husband as a leader of the College and Career group for almost 3 years. James and I love Grace and are so blessed to be a part of this family. The path God led me down to get me into this position is something I couldn’t have imagined myself.
I loved my job as a teacher, but I have always thought it would be amazing to work as the Children’s Director at Grace. It is an opportunity for me to pour myself into the children, teach them about Jesus, and show them God’s love without the added stress of paperwork, tests, grades, and report cards. I am so excited to be taking on this role. I am enthusiastic about working with your children and getting to know their sweet, fun personalities. I am also excited to serve you and to help you as you raise your little people to love God. I hope to get these kids excited about Jesus and eager to live for Him.

Our Sunday school classes will be starting a new curriculum on September 11th which they will use throughout the entire school year. The Children's Ministry (kindergarten through fifth grade) uses John Piper's Children Desiring God curriculum. The goal of our ministry as well as Piper's curriculum is "to impart to children a vision of God, who He is, who we are in relation to Him, and to establish them with a foundation of doctrine and truth." Our desire is for our children to see God as the hero of every story, to have a God-centered worldview and a faith that will hold them when difficulties come. We want them to love the Lord their God with all their heart, with all their soul and with all their mind.
