Our Men’s Committee would like to encourage each of you to join us for our upcoming Men’s Retreat, to be held at Shadow Mountain Resort in beautiful Palm Desert, the weekend of April 27 – 29, 2012.
The theme of this year’s retreat will be “Building Brothers” to focus on the commitment that we have as men to work together in building each other up as the body of Christ, just as we begin building our new church facility. We have an excellent guest speaker lined up for the event - Joe Hellerman – who is a professor of New Testament at Biola University, a pastor in Oceanside, and author of “When the Church Was a Family: Recapturing Jesus' Vision for Authentic Christian Community”. Joe holds degrees from Biola (Master of Divinity and Master of Theology, Old Testament) and the University of California (Bachelor of Arts in English and Masters of Arts in English and History of Christianity).
The weekend begins with a BBQ at 6pm on Friday and concludes at noon on Sunday, with plenty of time for recreation (tennis, volleyball, swimming, hiking), worship, and ‘building relationships’ with other leaders in our community. The cost for the weekend is $260 (same as last year) and includes all lodging, meals and sessions. As in the past, we don’t want price to be an impediment to anyone wishing to attend, and full/partial scholarships may be available. Early Bird registrants who register by April 1 will receive a free copy of Joe’s book.
Golf on Friday is available as an extra, and will begin at 10:30am at the East Valley Golf Club in Beaumont for $65.00. Please make sure to choose the Retreat + Golf Option ($325) when registering or call Jim Popov @ (949) 903-9391 with questions.
