01.25.12 - God-Focused Living (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)

OVERFLOW has begun a four-week study on the book of Deuteronomy, and we launched this series with a lesson built on Deuteronomy 6:4-9, where Moses urged the people of Israel to love God with all their heart, soul, and strength. We discussed what it meant to lead a God-centered life, and challenged our group to commit to living this way.

If you’d like to keep the discussion going this week, consider using these questions in conversation with others—or when the entire family is together:

  • Why is it important to live a life focused on God? What is the alternative?
  • How do our interactions as a family with one another show what truly matters to us?
  • Is there anything our family can be doing to become more outwardly focused in showing the world that Christ is the center of our lives?

I also want to encourage all of you to put this weeks teaching into action by memorizing our VoftheW, reading along with us in the Bible, or doing this weeks C2A.

Thanks for praying for OVERFLOW as we continue our journey of walking through these key books of the Bible. Please pray that students would learn about God’s Word, but more importantly, that this knowledge would translate to changed, transformed lives that honor God.

In His Grip,
Chad & Chris
