OVERFLOW is continuing our five-week study on the book of Matthew. This week’s lesson looked at the “soul rest” offered by Jesus, based on the words he spoke in Matthew.

                                

Beginning October 14th all of us here at Grace (Adults, Overflow & Kids) will begin a series focused on the life saving message of the Gospel and our call to share that message with others. This series is unique in that there will be Wednesday night gatherings from 7-8:30pm in addition to Sunday morning teaching. This will allow us to discuss practical ways of sharing the message of Jesus.

We encourage you to save these Wednesday dates - October 17th, 24th & November 7th, 14th, so that you can make preparations to attend each week.  We are encouraging all Grace Fellowship Home Groups to include this time as part of their regular weekly gathering.

Children, ages 1-10, will have classes on Wednesday night, but we are requesting parents RSVP for their children to Amber Mitchell in order to have the proper amount of materials ready.

This series provides a great opportunity for us to enlarge our hearts for the lost as we look at our role and the freedom we have in the salvation process.  Over the course of the FloodLight series you’ll hear testimonies from Grace members designed to challenge and encourage us to step out in faith in the power of the Holy Spirit!

This week was the third lesson in our five-lesson study on the Gospel of Matthew. Our lesson focused on Jesus’ desire to meet the needs of those who suffer. We challenged ourselves to embrace Christ’s call to be “workers” in a “harvest field” desperately in need of their presence.

There is a monthly magazine style publication for parents with all ages of children, and this monthly resource is available as a Free App, as well.  Weekly Sunday School pre-teach publications are available for both our toddlers and preschool children. 

                                     

We've achieved another milestone in our steady progress towards completion of our renovation project: the City of Costa Mesa has now approved all of our improvement plans...both inside and out!

Up until now, most of the work has been focused on the building's exterior, but now that the interior improvement plans have been approved, we'll really start to see some dramatic changes to our sanctuary, offices and common areas. Here is a brief summary of what you can expect to be seeing over the next month:

• A final smooth plaster finish will be applied to the building's exterior.
• New hardscape walls and trellis will be constructed in the Courtyard area.
• New landscaping work will commence around the building.
• The "South Atrium" area will have existing flooring and walls demolished while a new roof is constructed.
• The coffee bar will be demolished (don't worry...we'll still have coffee, but you'll have to find it!)
• The current main reception area and "North bathrooms" will be remodeled with new tile and paint.
• The building's office areas will receive new carpet and paint.
• Demolition of walls and ceiling soffits in the main sanctuary area will also commence.

Since the improvement plan approval process took a little longer than expected, we now anticipate that the renovation will be completed sometime around the beginning of November. We appreciate your patience and look forward with great anticipation to the finished product!
